Beautiful location, but unfortunately overshadowed by poor service and unacceptable treatment.

The location is nice, the garden is beautiful and peaceful, and most of the staff were friendly and welcoming. The newly hired manager who arrived during the last days of our stay was polite, professional, and helpful.

− The Booking.com description stated that one of our rooms had a terrace with garden views, but it did not have a private terrace. Only one room had a mosquito net, while the bathroom windows had no mosquito nets and could not be closed, so mosquitoes entered constantly. One shower did not work, and when we asked for a simple solution, such as a bucket to wash the children, the response was defensive. Basic service was lacking. My towels were never changed, i had to empty my own rubbish twice, and the second time i even used my own bag because no new one was provided. The biggest issue was the repeated power cuts. On several nights the electricity went off, making it impossible to sleep in the heat without the fan. The night before we left, the solar system alarm beeped throughout the night next to our room. My friends 11-year-old son had a fever, and when we explained that there was no airflow, the owner’s partner, A., told us he “didn’t give a …” and later shouted, “…off, take your bags and leave.” He also called us “stupid Europeans.” This happened in the middle of the night. We decided to leave one day early because of this. We understand that technical problems can happen, but the issue was the way concerns were handled. Earlier in our stay, the boy also cut his foot open in the pool, and there was no concern shown when we wanted to informed him. The owner later agreed via WhatsApp to refund the final unused night but then stopped responding.

Absolutely the best host i have ever had in Africa, a very polite, helpful Scottish woman, the room is neat, the breakfast was amazing, very good value for money.

Ein ruhiges Einod mitten im Chaos. Wer mit einfachen Standards zufrieden ist wird es hier lieben. Die Besitzer haben die Lodge gerade erstanden und sind bemüht alles zu erneuern. Ein herzliches Miteinander welches sich auf die Gäste überträgt. Ein herzliches Danke an die Mädels in der Küche, Dodou, Mohamad, Aaligi und natürlich Jane.
