My husband and I stayed at Donnasilia for one week in July 2019 to celebrate my 50th birthday. We wanted something a bit nicer than normal due to the occasion and we weren't disappointed. It really is a boutique B&B with just six rooms. It is set in beautiful gardens with a stunning view over Palinuro. It has so much to offer, being very close to the town and beach, yet offering perfect tranquillity to relax and enjoy your holiday. The décor is beautiful and has a comfortable and attractive style. Each time you return to the B&B an air of tranquillity falls over you. We chose room Colombaia and it was beautiful. It is individually decorated in a romantic style. The room was beautifully clean and kept so throughout our stay. It is a good size with suitable storage and a safe; the bathroom (only) has a low ceiling but this wasn't a problem for us. We had a wonderful view of the coastline from our room. The bed was really comfortable and the room very quiet. Bottles of shower gel and a wider range of bathroom products would be well received and more in-keeping with the beautiful accommodation. The B&B is well-situated. It is a short (5/10 minutes), flat walk into the town, 5 minutes to the beach (Saline) and yet surrounded by olive trees and wonderfully peaceful and tranquil. It is probably about 20 minutes' walk to the port/marina. We walked there a few times and caught the tourist bus back (1 Euro 20 each, last bus is about 11.30 pm). The beaches are golden sand; they are rocky in places which adds to the stunning scenery and easily manageable with swimming shoes. What makes Donnasilia special is the terrace set in beautiful gardens with a panoramic view. The tables are laid with vases of herbs. We really enjoyed breakfast on the terrace each day: tasty cakes and pastries (a different selection each day), freshly brewed coffee, yoghurt and fruit. On my birthday they brought out a beautiful fruit tart complete with candles and sang happy birthday - a lovely surprise and start to the day. For Brits not familiar with Palinuro - it's a lovely town about 2 hours south of Naples in the Cilento area. It's not your typical historic town but has a lovely, relaxed feel to it and has it's very own prettiness. I think the Italians are keeping it to themselves and I don't blame them! We enjoyed chilling out on the beach, a boat trip and trying out local restaurants. We also walked the coastline to visit the lighthouse and weather station. We flew with Easyjet from Bristol to Naples, took the tourist bus to the central train station in Naples and the train to Pisciotta Palinuro (about 8 Euros each). The B&B very kindly collected us from the train station which is about 5 miles away. All really easy and cheap. I stayed here with my girlfriend and her family for one week in August. The hosts and staff are very welcoming and helpful. The villa itself is situated very well, close to the beach and the city centre, with great views of the sea. Breakfast was good. Rooms were clean and spacious. All in all a great place to stay to enjoy the South of Italy!

A little corner of Paradise!

I spent few days, on holidays, in Donnasilia: such a wonderful place! The B&B is located very close to the beach (downhill "Saline") and also to the center of Palinuro (less than five minutes by car/5-10 mins by walking). The country house has been rebuilt on the ruins of an old mill: the large garden is still full of olive trees and on the terrace you can enjoy a breath-taking view of the whole gulf. The staff is extremely nice, clean rooms and ... breakfast (homemade) is strongly recommended!
