1.0− Ik had dit appartement 2 maanden van tevoren geboekt en het werd meteen bevestigd. Mijn aankomsttijd doorgegeven, was ook akkoord. In de week voor vertrek kreeg ik allemaal vage mails van booking (?) dat ik opnieuw moest bevestigen en dat anders mijn boeking zou worden geannuleerd. Gecheckt via de website van booking.com, maar als het al bevestigd was, hoefde ik niets meer te doen stond er. Wel een berichtje aan de eigenaar/host gestuurd met de melding dat we gewoon zouden komen en of hij kon bevestigen dat hij op ons rekende. Niets gehoord, ook niet na herhaald bericht. Bij aankomst in Lima kreeg ik een bericht dat het verblijf was 'opgeschort' en dat er geen relatie meer was tussen de host en booking.com. Ze werkten niet meer samen. Ik heb een Peruaanse vriendin direct laten bellen met de host (wij spreken geen Spaans) die aangaf dat er geen reservering was en dat er niets meer via booking.com liep. Ik had zelf nog 15 minuten om 'gratis te annuleren' en heb dat toen meteen gedaan om verder gedoe te voorkomen. Kennelijk werkt deze host dus niet meer samen met booking.com. Ik raad iedereen dus aan om niet via dit platform deze accommodatie te boeken. Ik had het fijn gevonden als de host/eigenaar mij dit even van tevoren had laten weten met een bericht. Wij stonden na een vliegreis van meer dan 12 uren met 2 jonge kinderen op het vliegveld en dit leverde onnodig stress op.
