− The floor in the shower was rotten and collapsing under our feet, the noise from the neighbouring unit was unbelievable and had to knock on the door at 10:30 at night to let them know it was unacceptable. The decor hasn’t changed since conception, sort of like a 1970s motel unit on Route 66 where murders were put together planned and doubt with. All in all the place needs a major makeover, it’s overpriced undervalued the Wi-Fi didn’t work. Very few amenities available, the pick of four heaters for the unit at least 2 out of 4 worked thankfully.

Staff were friendly at check in. The room was very clean, large and the bed was comfy with a doona provided. A heater was available which was much needed given how cold it was. There were hooks for towels in the room which was handy. We were able to park close to our room and the bathroom was not far down the corridor. The bathroom was clean when we showered, although it did get quite wet later after the group had used it. Water pressure was good and hot. From what we could see of the common room, it was large and had lots of activities to do. The cafe had a large menu for breakfast.

− It was so noisy! Our room shared a wall with the kitchen and there was a school/youth group staying there. They took over the entire kitchen and common area doing homework until almost midnight, at which point they spent 30mins slamming doors up and down the corridor whilst getting ready for bed. The slamming actually made the beds shake. They left again at 6am so we barely got any quiet sleep. The kitchen noise may not have been so bad except that their supervisor insisted on keeping the door (a fire door) propped open. All the bedroom doors were very heavy and slammed if you didn't hold onto them, so I imagine there is always some noise, regardless of who the guests are. Funnily, the only door that isn't weighted was the external door, so it was regularly left open letting the cold into the corridors. FYI there are no ladders up to the top bunk so it's an awkward climb up. The only power point in the room was located in the middle of the wall to the side of one of the bottom bunks which was pushed against the wall. This meant that to plug the heater in, we had to run the power cord across the bottom bed, making the bed unusable. More light in the bathrooms would be helpful as the shower cubicles are very dark.
