Nothing - leaving

− Arrived to discover the doors locked and ran down exterior, furniture stacked up in what I assume was the restaurant. Called the Number on the dilapidated sign to be told someone would be down shortly 15-20mins later a young lady arrived and unlocked the hotel, we obtained our key and directed to our room and then she left !!!! (She did mention they had just bought the property). The hallway stunk of what I can only describe as musty, dirty & damp. On entry to our room noted that the carpets were stained the ceiling had paper hanging from it where at some point in the past there had been a leak. Looked like the room hadn't seen a duster in at least a year? Bathroom again had paper hanging off the wall behind the sink and the toilet fitting hasn't been completed. Little kitchen area was ok however microwave has seen far better day's. Bedding appeared clean however was extremely dated, holes in the curtains. At this point we did contemplate leaving however it was late and we had been driving all day. Went to make a coffee to discover there was no milk - a trip to the shop to discover the area was like the hotel run down and extremely unkept. Went to bed only to be woken at about 10.30pm to banging on the main entrance door - more new guests who were unable to enter - same story phone call to number on sign someone came down gave them key and then just left. Following morning went to have a shower (electric shower) and so started the game of in and out - the shower wasn't regulating it's was either stone cold or scalding hot?? Checkout wasn't even a thing nobody on site to leave keys with it was a case of leaving them on reception desk. I was not expecting the Ritz for the price point but cleanliness, fresh,and someone on site is surely a minimum. I would advise the new owners to remove it from booking.com until upgrades have been accomplished.
