2.0Wensleydale pub and hotel in a great location in this picturesque village. As a pub,the fifteenth century inn works well with a choice of good beers. As a hotel, it's a disaster with very shabby ,cold rooms poorly furnished and with many defects. I can make allowances for the age of the property and the effects of the storm but the lack of basic maintenance and absence of customer focus is appalling. The heating system is capable but needs to be available 24 hours in rooms with no insulation and draughty windows. The attitude of the management team is defensive rather than accepting responsibility and correcting or fixing what is wrong/broken. Learn from my bad mistake and avoid this hotel.

10.0A lovely old hotel with good food and cosy rooms. Very pet-friendly, although dogs aren't allowed in the breakfast room. I'd certainly love to stay here again.

10.0The place is an old pub and whilst it is a little tired decor wise, this was clear from the pictures online. We had a request which wasn't passed on to the hotel, but the staff were so friendly and accommodating that it wasn't a problem. Location is lovely a quiet dales village with lovely views. Stayed one night and we both slept well. Some general maintenance of the premises wouldn't go amiss, and I would suggest a small information pack could be provided on the rooms for future guests.

4.0When we arrived the room had been double booked, Expedias fault, i would never ever book through them again, worst booking company i have come across and still trying to get my money back
