It was a very pleasant place to stay
8.0Very friendly staff. For what we paid the room was what we expected.
− As it was very warm it was a shame that only one very small window could be opened. The shower was either very hot or icy cold!
A place full of character that the owners/hosts have clearly put a lot of effort in to make it a great place to stay
9.0It’s full of character and even though old buildings can restrict the layout and facilities you could see the owners/hosts had done as much as possible to make it appealing. The snug, garden and honesty bar are a real plus, the breakfast was really good with a great selection and Jo the host was lovely to chat to, super friendly lady that really made us feel welcome.
− I think if you like characterful places there’s not much not to like.
Great stay overall, would come again
8.0Great location, very clean, comfiest bed, very quirky, the honesty bar is a great idea, ran well
− From the outside it does need to be more inviting, but of repair work maybe, some flower pots and window boxes hanging baskets etc maybe, doesn't look at inviting as pictures unfortunately
Perfect location to visit Whitby - a charming, comfortable stay.
9.0It was characterful and tastefully decorated. It was in an idyllic, quiet location right next to the path that leads to Whitby - only a miles walk. The staff were very friendly and communicative, especially prior to our arrival. They were very welcoming and showed us where to find everything. The parking was especially appreciated.
− A second bedside table would have been useful and perhaps a mini fridge too. The extractor fan for the shower room needs attention - made a funny noise when turned on. Noise from neighbouring room was acknowledged and noted by staff.
