10.0The Guest House is run by a very friendly Sicilian family. My room was excellent condition, spotlessly clean, bed was very comfortable. WiFi was fast and reliable. I left early and they went out of their way to make me breakfast. There is a lovely cafe, pizzeria, fast food joint very close but best of all a fantastic restaurant within 50m and a fantastic pub within 70m so the area is vibrant with real character. There is a piazza and a church very close, where the pub is, where people gather. The bells sound till 12 so take ear plugs if you don’t like that type of thing. The town is run down, but that didn’t affect my stay. I felt very safe and the people were much more friendly than Catania. Warning - don’t park overnight just outside the hotel as it’s pedestrian only evenings to allow the restaurant to put its tables out. Park on the other side of the high street after you unload your bags. I got 40 Euro fine.
A brilliant change from impersonal hotels Loved it
10.0Stated for 3 nights for a business trip. I have stayed in many hotels as I am exploring for the best. This place feels different to hotels in Catania. It’s a family run guest house and the owners will make you feel very welcome. It’s decor is top class and perfectly clean. It all seems bran new. WiFi very fast. There is a great terrace overlooking the street where there are restaurants and a great pub. I sat outside Angels pub, 100m from hotel, and loved it. Safe. A single woman would find it no problem. Feels like a lovely Sicilian ambiance. Also unlike Catania which can be dangerous to drive in, this town was easy. Easy access onto motorway. Double check the parking procedure but I think it’s this - weekends and evenings after 8 it’s free. Working days there are plenty of blue line street parking where you feed the low cost meter. White lines spaces are free for one hour but leave a note in your windscreen stating arrival time. I am going back next week.
