Great views, perfect location, but don't choose unit 3!

The only thing going for unit 3 is its superb location and beautiful vistas.

− The property is extremely dated. Normally this wouldn't bother me in the slightest, however as it hasn't been updated in what must have been a long time, it feels grubby and not up to contemporary standards, especially when compared with similar properties/prices. The shower leaked, the carpets were filthy (which is significant when you have small children), the double bed was broken on one corner so couldn't be slept in, the windows don't open properly making the place very hot and uncomfortable and the old couch isn't very comfortable either. The kitchen doesn't have much of anything useful and not even the clock was working. Not that I cared about that while on holiday! Finally, the company managing this property were unhelpful and rude. This comment does not apply to the actual staff working at the shop front in Nelson Bay, but to the call centre/management staff. Firstly, when requesting a very reasonable one hour late check out time of 11am (check in is late, at 3pm and check out time is early at 10am) because my baby would have her morning nap until then, I was told that someone would let me know if this were possible. I had to chase them up twice, only to be informed that my request was denied. But that they would let us know the day before if we could have the extra hour. They said no, again. This was extremely frustrating and was a first for me. Secondly, you need to collect your keys quite far away from the property. This is mostly fine on the way in, however when you're leaving, it is a huge pain. We checked out, then wanted to go to the beach and cafe, but had to factor in driving out of our way to return the keys. They should either have a lock box on site or let you leave the keys in the place somewhere. We've stayed in this building before and had a fantastic time. Choose on of the other places; don't stay in unit 3!

Could do with a clean

Great position, close to beach, restaurants and cafes.

− Could do with a better clean. BedPillows in the main bedroom had suspicious white goo on them and obviously hadn't been cleaned from the last tenants. The wine glasses were all dirty and some of the plates in the cupboard had a severe layer of dust on them. We paid $998 for 3 nights for that price we would have liked aircon and clean pillows

− Carpet seemed to not have a good steam clean or deep clean in ages just a light vacuum same with the lounges. Cabinets in room were dusty, considering we had to wait till 3 to they had time to make sure the room was clean this is poor ( pay for a day and get to start that day at 3:30pm ) Limited cleaning supplies ( little sashay of liquid ) Room seemed dated ( fresh coat of paint and some care would be great ) for the price guests pay.
