Mid range, good hotel
10.0I have been at this hotel for New Year with my wife. Reception gave me free upgrade suite room (pictures of that room I will share here). It was very comfortable big sized room with living and sleeping spaces. Room has smart TV with YouTube and Netflix access. Also they have indoor swimming pool which we have used as well. As you know on special dates all hotels increase their price, but Atlas Hotel was mid range hotel with full hotel needable services. Nothing to say about bad sides. In general very good.
Excellent
10.0Beautiful place where I felt myself at home. Big thanks for all stuff. Hope in 2025 I will be there again and could enjoy full reinnivated hotel facilities. Advised all my friends in Poland, by the way there is direct flights from Warsaw. Enjoyable
Baku - The wonderful City of Winds!
10.0Azerbaijan is a wonderful confluence of the erstwhile USSR, Europe and Arab richness. People are friendly. The city is blessed with cool winds, natural beauty, technological innovation and beautiful people. Great places of historical, natural and modern significance, most of which will impress you a lot. I visited Baku with friends and engaged a private van instead of joining the SIC (Bus) bandwagon. We wanted that flexibility, hence paid about 15% extra - it was a great idea as we could stretch our time per our convenience. Our visits primarily included Baku city tour, Old Baku+Nizami street, Baku Boulevard, Little Venice, Heydar Aliyev Cultural Center, Upland Park (Highland Park) and Flame Towers, Palace of the Shirvanshahs, Gobustan/Mud volcanoes, Shahdag (with optional entertainment rides), Ateshgah Fire Temple & Yanardag Fire Mountain. Indian food is available aplenty at many restaurants across Baku. If you are a vegetarian, you might miss the typical Indian breakfast, but you will still be able to manage relatively well. Most establishments accept cards, would suggest to keep some limited amount of AZN/USD in case a need arises.. Else, cards should suffice. We were able to survive the entire 5 day trip with a forex-plus card and USD 50/- in cash (incl some shopping for chocolates and local trinkets/mementos) Last, language is a major hurdle as most folks speak/understand only Azaerbaijani or Russian. English is a major obstacle. Recommend usage of translator apps. Baku also has a decent nightlife with eateries, restaurants, night-clubs remaining open long into the night. Wish you a great vacation and hope you enjoy Baku's beauty!
A good, budget friendly hotel!
8.0Atlas Hotel Baku, a good budget hotel located neither too far nor too close to Old Baku/Nizami street. However, there are many clubs and cafés (including a nightclub right in its basement) near it. What I liked: 1. The staff is very customer service oriented. 2. The breakfast buffet is more than adequate. You will get a wide range of foods there. They have ample options to cater to Indians too. The bakery section of the buffet is amazing. 3. Good rooms! I got a suite room and it was very spacious. 4. There is 24X7 supermarket right opposite the hotel. It was a lifesaver. From currency exchange, fruits, beverages, snacks to baked goods, they have it all. 5. Do not get SIM card from airport. The reception offers affordable data plans with local SIM cards (physical SIM, not eSIM). What can be improved: 1. The spa area/gym area was not very well maintained. 2. The room had a vinegar-ish odour. However, the staff was courteous to provide a complimentary upgrade to a suite which was lovely. 3. In the breakfast buffet, some egg dishes were kept under the vegetarian counter. It needs to be looked at seriously. 4. The pool area was not very appealing. 5. The hotel reception does not offer eSIM which was a hassle. 6. Majority of the staff does not know English so you will need a translator app frequently. Only the staff deputed at the reception is fluent in English. Overall, I will recommend this hotel for a good, comfortable and budget friendly stay.
Budget Friendly + Customer Service Oriented
8.0Atlas hotel is based out of a prime location with a 24/7 market right opposite its entrance and a multitude of restaurant options. Different banks near its vicinity for exchange, would recommend Kapital Bank for its service and great exchange rate. Pls do not bother with Unibank near the hotel as staff service is horrendous! I had opted for Atlas hotel due to the sheer number of positive affirmations for its manager Mr. Agshin Shiraliyev and I concur they are absolutely right. He recommended our tour Guide Bakhtiyer, an amazing individual and great fun to be with especially outskirts of Baku drives which are lengthy in duration so a good company is a must have! Breakfast is included and for those with Indian tastes, they had catered in the week that I stayed Indian breakfast buffet along with vegetarian options. The only downside to the stay was WiFi issues we faced for two days however it was fixed. All in all would highly recommend to stay at this hotel with a special mention again for Mr. Agshin and effusively friendly staff Mr. Aamir Khan who made the stay a memorable one.
Hopeless stay.
2.0Absolutely sub standard hotel. Unduly hyped and don't go by the pictures uploaded on apps and social media platforms. We traveled as family and friends in November 2023 to this hotel in Baku. In our local Indian language, it's a "chaddar badal" hotel. Means it's a hotel of a category of 2 hours short bookings. Floor mats in rooms were dusty and shabby. Phone spray/jet spray in washroom was non functional. When informed the management denied to accept the problem and asked to use it as it, saying it's a standard usage pattern. Toilet accessories too were missing. Television was non functional. In the basement is a night pub more so, used as a pick up point. Very limited options for breakfast with rude service staff. No live kitchen. Not recommended for family stays.
