I want to love it
4.0So we came to this hotel in February and then again in July and we had the same kind of room… King suite and had the same problems both times. I really like the room and this whole thing. The first time was just a miss. Pros: nice patio, room was large, front desk manager (Vlad) is friendly Cons: both times we came the clock had the wrong ltime and you can’t fix it and they can’t fix it, only one bath towel in a king suite both times, & water temperature is terrible. It does not get hot. Also, we stayed for two nights and they apparently only do room service every other night. Which I realize a lot of places do but most places tell you this when you check in and they didn’t. This time parking was an issue probably because it’s Summer. They are charging seven dollars for parking and they didn’t even have enough spaces the first night. That’s outrageous! This could be a great option for Santa Cruz, but they’ve gotta fix these cheap cutting corners… I know lots of people who go down here because I have family here and I unfortunately can’t recommend this hotel
Disappointed but Hopeful
6.0Pros: Lobby was large and looked great. Guest rooms had tall ceilings. Cons: TV remote did not work. We called the front desk. The front desk person came to our rooms, he could not make TV remote work. Shower hot setting was set to 100 F, the fixture itself showed the number 100. Lukewarm showers are no fun. A/C was not central A/C. A/C did not cool down the room significantly after 4 hours. Bathroom lighting was odd. Main light source was over the shower area. Decorative lighting next to the bathroom mirror that gave off about 15 watts of light. As a Marriott Bonvoy member for many years, this hotel was disappointing. Marriott branded hotel should not be rated as AVERAGE. But I am hopeful that the Hotel Management will read these reviews and make right decisions to improve this hotel.
Beautiful hotel & huge rooms, but couldn’t sleep.
6.0Staff are wonderful & rooms are immaculately clean & fresh. The patio & gathering spaces were really nice, ambiance of evening offerings, including a live band on Friday night, was really fun and special.
− This is one of nicest hotels we’ve ever stayed in, but my mattress was so lumpy & old that I left with a terrible back ache. It ruined my whole trip, no way to get enough sleep to enjoy the day activities.
Would not stay again.
4.0The location was convinient. One room was big.
− Breakfast was not offered. Customer service was terrible. One of our rooms was NOT a king suite (no couch in the room/no fold out), but staff would not take any off the price of the room. Staff did not respond to multiple requests for assistance with pillows, etc. The fold out bed in the other room was so uncomfortable, it was next to impossible to sleep on. Staff did not provide sheets for the fold out even after requesting. The bathroom door (barn door) did not stay closed.
Not Worth the money
5.0− I was disappointed by several things: bathroom smelled terribly of mold, the faucet in bathroom was extremely hard to move, the bed I was on was sunken in on one side, after I went to bed the person in the room above me was stomping around for at least 30 minutes, and I had no idea it was $75 extra to bring a pet as I had booked online.
