Breakfast had a good selection of options and was cooked to order. Dinner also had a good selection of options, the steak was cooked to our requirements. The rooms were clean and comfortable The location was quiet and perfect to "chill-out" The Lounge was relaxing and comfortable

Food was exceptional, "home made" comfort food for dinner. Breakfast had a large selection of options. Room was clean and comfortable. Lounge was comfortable and relaxing, outside seating was quiet and peaceful. A hotel where you can "chill out"

Awfull experience : don't accept an " upgrade"

− Whilst planning our holiday tour around Wales we came across Picton house. The very positive reviews on both rooms and restaurant made us decide to stay a couple of nights in St.Clears . We booked 3 nights luxury room with kingsize bed. June 2nd we got a mail saying : Due to availability issues we have upgraded you to our self contained appartment which includes its own kitchen and living area as well as private garden. This will be kept at the same price as your original booking. Please be aware that no food will be available for the first evening, however it will be back to normal from Monday evening onwards. We apologise for the inconvenience. If you have any questions, please get in touch. I answered we would find somewhere else to eat for the first evening. Assuming there would be a wedding or something similar going on that Sunday. On arrival the gate was closed with a note the bar was closed. The parking-lot empty. Instruction had us go around the back past an old caravan. The “appartment” turned out to be an stable with a (very) small bed. The “private garden” a patch of grass of 2x4m. Wooden furniture outside about to collapse. The door was open. I checked Booking to see if maybe a room had become available. Nothing available. Next morning we went to the hotel for breakfast. The door was open, reception empty, bar completely cleared out, kitchen empty too. An older couple came downstairs on their way out telling us they had the entire house for the weekend, and it was not really a hotel. Called the contact number a couple of times from inside the “hotel” : no answer. At that time we lost faith and decided to leave. Send a mail proposing I’d pay the fist night, but get a refund for the two other nights. So far no apologies, no reply, or refund.

Lovely location..

The hosts were very helpful. We needed early access because my daughter's father had a hospital appointment, which she wanted to go to and the hosts very kindly let us check in early! The breakfasts were very nice. It was a pretty location with views across the fields and trees. The horses were a lovely surprise! The double bed was comfortable and the sheets were spotless. My daughter slept on the bottom bunk bed, I don't know if it was comfortable, but the sheets were spotless!

Pleasant staff, well maintained and the food for both breakfast and dinner was interesting and good.

− Isolated location but not an issue for us as we were staying only one night. Towels were hard but no real complaints about the facilities

Locaiton is quiet and peaceful. Property had nice views. Stay was very comfortable.
