Room 4 - probably not the best choice
6.0Positives: friendly and helpful staff, lovely breakfast and lots of food options available, fancy and huge shower in room, bed comfortable, free parking in pub car park, WiFi good. Negatives: Furniture is old and battered and as it's an old building, the floor is very wonky, like a crooked house, so walking around is a bit like trying to find your sea legs and failing! A bit dusty and carpet needed a hoover. TV does not connect to streaming services. Biggest complaint is the noise from the bar, and I think this room is probably directly above it, so you have to have the TV up to megaphone volume to drown out music in the evening. I have no idea what the other rooms are like, I did expect some noise but I guess it's a room above a pub, so..... a rather mixed experience. I would come to the pub for the food and might stay again but would choose the room next time.

10.0Third stay at The Angel. Comfortable, clean room and easy overnight parking adjacent. Excellent housekeeping. Very nice on-site Italian restaurant, ideal for dinner. The staff set this place apart. Friendly, relaxed and nothing is too much trouble. Even sent someone to buy Marmite for my breakfast toast when they ran out. Took 2 mins and a new pot arrived! Hope to visit again next year.

10.0Lovely hotel in a quaint village high street. Very clean and welcoming staff. Just a bit dated but not a problem. Best bed I’ve slept in! Wonderful breakfast next morning. Very good choice for breakfast.

10.0A real gem, fantastic staff, the whole place is welcoming, friendly and clearly a community hub. The restaurant (Cleone's Italian) was a surprise bonus with great food and the Paradiso ice-cream sundae was absolutely supreme. An excellent base from which to explore Suffolk and a place you will look forward to returning to each day. Thank you to Cleo, Ross, Grace, Lily and all the staff for being wonderful hosts.
