We loved everything about Rivers Rest. Very well equipped and added extras in the food cupboard which really helps. Cooking oil, foil, salt and pepper. The bed was very comfortable and we honestly were provided with everything we needed. We spent a few days in the garden just listening to the birds, watching muntjac feeding and completely relaxing.

Perfect private getaway

Super clean and on the doorstep of Oxnead Hall which is where we had a 3 day event wedding! The bed was amazing, and we had everything we needed.

A really good centre for exploring rural Norfolk, away from noise and traffic.

Extremely quiet, with some excellent walks in the vicinity - river, Bure Valley Railway etc. All the equipment at the property is good quality and works well.

− We didn't find the instructions for finding the property as informative as they might have been. The last section (turning right just beyond the farm) wasn't clear, and we did go wrong & spend time wondering what on earth to do.

A Relaxing and peaceful

It was a lovely cosy cottage, very peaceful and quiet. It was immaculately clean and was decorated to a high standard. The surrounding ding area was beautiful and it was well positioned to explore the area.

This property is just perfect for a peaceful getaway being set in a very desirable location where you can mix quiet countryside walks that are right outside your door, with being close enough to travel to the Broads and other locations of interest around Norfolk. The cottage was in pristine condition, compact but thoughtfully designed and equipped with everything you might need. The weather wasn't particularly kind to us but despite the rain we still found some lovely National Trust properties and when the sun came out went to Horsey to see the Seals, hired a boat on the broads and enjoyed some wonderful local walks and the abundance of wildlife during our 4 night stay. − Why 9/10 ? Scarce rural network coverage is to be expected. Property (inside) WiFi speed only adequate for intermittent text so make sure you have the keybox code before arrival, download 3.03Mbps / upload 0.44Mbps. Upon arrival we noticed that the 2 seater chair had a bad smell that perhaps the previous tenants had spilt something on it. We aired all the cushions outside but the smell would not go and by the 2nd night had become unbearable. We contacted Michelle the next morning and the seat was removed and replaced within an hour by Gary, fortunately they had a spare, Fantastic! We also requested a lighter TOG duvet as the one supplied was particularly heavy and too warm for the season, Michelle immediately replaced it with two single duvets but sadly these were also a high TOG and too warm. We were very pleased with Michelle and Gary being on hand and acting so promptly to put things right for us, its a shame that we waited 2 days before asking them, such lovely people.
