Green Papaya Beach Resort, Koh Phangan♡

We had a lovely stay. The staff were lovely, the food was excellent and the sundowners on the beach were great. We stayed in one of the cheaper rooms for a few nights and then moved to a chalet. Both were really lovely so if you’re on a tighter budget the cheaper room is also great. I loved the free yoga next to the pool on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays. The instructor was excellent! Make sure you put your name down for it. If they have less than 2 people signed up by 2pm the day before, they cancel the class. We hired a scooter and had loads of fun exploring the island. An important point that nobody told us before… you can easily rent scooters wherever you go in Thailand for about 250BHT a day and nobody asks to see your license. BUT legally in Thailand you must have a motorcycle license and an international license to ride a scooter. This means that if you have an accident, and you don’t have these licenses… you are riding illegally and your travel insurance won’t cover you. Apparently there are loads of go fund me pages for people who didn’t know this and had accidents. We really enjoyed the Pantip market in Thon Sala after a day in Thong Nai Pan. Loved the Vietnamese shrimp wraps for only 30 BHT. We also enjoyed walking to the end of the beach and up some stairs to Cookies restaurant where they had good food, reggae and a nice atmosphere. (We didn’t love the music at green papaya, but that’s just a question of taste.

− The way people book sun loungers with their towels next to the pool and then leave. This happens everywhere and I think hotels should have signs around pools saying that you can’t book a sun lounger if you leave the pool area. It’s only yours while you’re using it. We watched someone pull 6 loungers next to each other, put towels on each on and then go to breakfast for an hour. Weird.

מלון מושלם מושלם מושלם ישנו בבקתה פרטית הבקתה מרווחת מאוד ויפה מיטה נוחה מאוד מקלחת כיפית בחוץ ניקיון ברמה מאוד מאוד גבוהה השירות של הצוות מדהים! כולם נחמדים ועוזרים כל הזמן יש בריכה מהממת במלון עם נוף לחוף המלון ממוקם ממש על חוף הים יש עמדת מסאג׳ קטנה ממש על הבריכה והמטפלת שם מעולה בוודאות נחזור

− הדרך למלון קצת מאתגרת עם אופנוע - הכבישים לא במצב טוב ומאוד חשוך בלילה סביב המלון לא הייתי ממליצה למי שלא מנוסה בנהיגה באופנוע או לנשים שמטיילות לבד

− I juni är det stor skillnad på ebb och flod, så man får gå ut en bit för att bada.

Sehr sauberes und komfortables Zimmer und Bett! Sehr freundliches Personal und gutes Essen. Der Strand war Traumhaft schön mit unvergleichlichen Sonnenuntergangs Aussicht!

− Ohne Roller ist es nur mit teueren Fährtendienst möglich weg zu kommen außer man findet Leute zum teilen.

This is the third time we have stayed at this hotel (2015, 2024, and 2026). On this most recent visit, there were three of us adults occupying two rooms. The property remains well-maintained. The breakfast is good. The beach is lovely.

− Bolt and Grab are not available on the island. Taxis are therefore easiest to book through the hotel. You do not pay per car but per person. 200 Bath per person is perfectly fine from the port, but paying 450Bath for a car to pick us up at the neighboring beach (4-5 min drive) when we checked in is a bit steep.
