Good stay, poor breakfast
8.0I had a problem with my window and I was moved to another bigger room
− Breakfast- room far too small for the rooms they have. Ghe food was too basic and we would have appreciated some fruit, pastries and gluten free options. Toaster working only one side and too slow, which for 10 people waiting for 5 mins each was rather ridiculous. Table sticky
Comfy but lacking in breakfast.
7.0Everything was clean, and staff were friendly. Pub was great. Room was small but comfy.
− The lack of variety of self serve cold breakfast. Very disappointed. No options for gluten free.
Would stay again
10.0Great location
− Both of my friends had to move rooms. 1 due to broken window unable to open & 1 due to noise
The worst hotel stay of my life.
1.0Nothing
− This was unequivocally the worst hotel stay of my life. Had we been able to leave and go elsewhere we would have done so, had there been a single member of staff available at reception this morning, I would have demanded a refund on the spot. Because the premises were entirely deserted, I am forced to put this in writing. My partner, her friend, and I booked a stay at the Lion and Lamb to rest after an exhausting, early-morning hike up Scafell Pike. As a designated B&B catering to local walkers, the absolute bare minimum we expected was a hot meal and a decent night’s sleep. We received neither. Instead, we were subjected to a chaotic, unsafe, and utterly miserable environment. The issues began the moment we arrived. We were advised that if we wanted to eat on the premises, we would need to dine early because they were catering for a private party later that evening. Taking this advice, we arrived for dinner at approximately 6:30 PM, only to be told there were no tables available and that we would have to sit outside. While sitting outside trying to decide on our food and drink orders, the situation rapidly deteriorated: Intolerable Noise: The music from the party was being blasted at a volume so extreme we literally could not hear one another speak. Harassment: In the brief span of a few minutes, our table was approached on three separate occasions by heavily intoxicated individuals. Violence: I went to the bar to place our order, but before I could even walk back to our table, a violent fight broke out right in front of us, culminating in a young man slapping his girlfriend. Appalled by the lack of security, control, and basic safety, we decided enough was enough. We abandoned our plans and left the premises entirely just to find a safe place to eat. When we returned at around 8:30 PM, hoping to get some sleep, the music was so loud the walls and floors in our rooms were vibrating. We had no sleep until gone midnight, I would never go here again.
Basic and not cheap
7.0Evening meals in the pub were very generous portions and service was friendly
− Breakfast was a fairly basic serve-yourself choice of cereals, yoghurt, toast and jam and coffee Bed was very firm! Price was clearly determined by Sellafield workers on expenses!
Please note breakfast is available from the local shop and consists of a breakfast bun and tea or coffee, this is redeemable by voucher which you will be issued with on check inManaged by a private host
