I booked for the location and found the beauty of Italy
10.0The apartment was cute as a button and located right in the middle of a fun, busy and historic area. It was on the second floor of an historic building on the corner of a classic Italian Piazza and a commercial street full of boutiques and restaurants. This is old Italy, narrow streets, stone roads, men sipping expresso in the Piazza. There is a front and back balcony so you can feast on parade of humanity. I chose to take my breakfasts in the front and practice yoga in the back balcony. The Neapolitan sun is intense, so the blinds should be lowered after 2. The apartment had everything to cook and to settle in. The host, Alessandra (aka the angel), left food in the fridge, coffee and bathroom supplies like body lotions and shampoo. She gave me maps of the area, suggested activities, restaurants and local archeological sites. Alessandra let me stay after checkout the last day because my flight schedule. She not only called me a shuttle to the airport, but walked me from my door, down the block to the dock area and handed me over like a treasured package. I’m a woman solo traveler who speaks terrible Italian. I was supported and encouraged throughout my stay in Pozzuoli in a cozy, cool retreat, right in the middle of it all. As a bonus the host speaks many languages and English is one. I didn’t want to leave.
