I really like the Host of the Guess House he is very knowledgeable of the area and really enthusiastic about making sure we had a great break. He even lent us binoculars to view France from the white cliffs of Dover. The accommodation is located on the way to the Castle, so it is very convenient and we had a very comfortable night after all the walking we did. The room is clean and really nice decor with lots of flowers outside. I would definitely recommend if doing the tours around Dover.

The TV was small and only had digital channels.

The guesthouse is well-located, close to Dover Castle and a walk down the hill into the downtown area. The room was comfortable though up a couple of steep staircases which might pose a challenge to those with mobility issues. The main drawback is that there is no breakfast available so it is necessary to walk downtown to get something to eat in the morning. However, the concierge, John, is so helpful and affable that he really made our visit a pleasure. For younger people who are looking for good value and don't mind a walk before breakfast, this is a good choice and John is a delightful host.

Excellent location, lovely clean and classy room with all the necessities.

The room itself was spotless, smelled good, nicely decorated and very spacious. It felt very classy. The neighborhood was very quiet in the evenings. John, the host, was kind, welcoming and super helpful in recommending places to see, how to easily get there and places to eat. He was also very knowledgeable about the history of the area. I recommend staying two nights if you have time!

There wasn’t really anything that we did not like. It might seem strange to some to have the shower in the room and not together with the toilet but this worked well giving the room more of a spacious feel and you do need to remember that the house is 200 years old! I would recommend that the owners consider putting in a more comfortable mattress as it was a bit hard but this didn’t bother us as we were tired after a long day of walking and exploring.
