6.0Would NOT recommend this property. When you walk through the front door of the castle, an overwhelming smell of dogs slap you in the face. There are 4 extra large dogs staying in an area just off the kitchen and dining areas that greet you with loud barks. The owners have child gates to keep them confined to one area but the dogs are both smelly and intimidating. The place could be a wonderful place to stay and relax but because of the smell, unsanitary areas and loud barking each time you go near the dogs, it is not recommended. The owner’s wife, Isabella was a lovely lady and seemed to do most of the upkeep of the castle. The owner, who is also the chef made a nice dinner but when I brought up the issue we paid for a king size suite but actually had a queen bed, was abrasive and dismissed my issue as Expedia not knowing what the castle had available. At the time I booked, 3 months ago, a king suite was available and the current website said it was. There was an empty king suite available.

10.0The Chateau is in the most beautiful location, with an amazing hedged driveway leading up to the Chateau. Our evening meal was incredible, Pascale is an amazing chef. We look forward to staying again on our way home
