Relaxing vacation in Irota

We loved how spatious and well equipped the house was - kitchen with dishwasher and all sorts of utensils, cookware and so on. The pool and surrounding area was peaceful and quiet. We had a great time cooking goulash in the outdoor stove, swimming in the pool and taking walks around the village.

− One easily solvable thing I would point out is ant infestation in one of the bedrooms in the lower house, a lot of them swarmed out from flooring at one point before the rain.

Cicha i spokojna okolica. Duży dom. Węgry są piękne, a dla nas to już kolejna podróż tylko nastepnym razem wybierzemy inny dom.

− From the most important issues, because I don’t feel like listing everything here: on the “grocery basket” list, there was butter, which we didn’t receive. Also, why include breakfast cereals or muesli when there’s no milk or milk alternative in the basket? The kitchen counter was sticky, just like the large dining table. At first glance the house, it seemed clean, but after a while, it was clear no one had vacuumed in ages. In one bathroom, there’s a shower-tub combo—the bathroom itself is quite spacious, which is fine, but the tub is tiny (narrow), and the shower is practically unusable. The other bathroom has just a shower, which is nice, but the floor is poorly sloped, so water doesn’t drain properly. On top of that, something no landlord seems to manage: clogged drains in both the tub and the shower. We fixed it ourselves because it was unbearable, but it’s a nightmare. Lastly, the so-called eco-friendly pool. Great concept, terrible execution. The pool has algae, and the walls have mold. We didn’t use it once because no sane person would get into that water, let alone let kids swim in it. Unless you want to prove how “eco” you are and risk poisoning yourself.

− I chose this accommodation because it is dog-friendly. I deliberately chose the lower house because there was supposed to be a pond there - because of the dogs. We arrived at the accommodation and the pond was extremely dirty and had a green layer on the surface and looked like a swamp. We were lucky, no one else was staying there/no neighbours, so we had the pool to ourselves. Right at the beginning, one of the children stood on the fence and the rusty fence cracked near the pool. The dogs were with us by the pool and swam with us. Then an inspection came unannounced and told us that bathing dogs was prohibited. We left the accommodation a day early - they refunded our money. Huge disappointment, we didn't know that dogs couldn't swim in the NATURAL pool - it wasn't written on the booking. If we had known, we wouldn't have gone there.
