9.0− I had to wait in line to check in an hour and a half. The was a long line and there was only one person at the desk.

Cozy hotel close to beach
8.0Great location within walking distance to the beach. It was cozy without the fanciness of the big brand hotels, which was ok. We were all about the beach, not a resort atmosphere. We learned when we arrived that Hollywood Beach Hotel operates 23 buildings in the area. We didn't know that and was looking forward to the pool that was advertised but it was at a different building than where we stayed. We accepted that and focused on the beach.
− The continental breakfast was disappointing, and the host was very stern when you checked in. She scolded a woman for taking two yogurts. One was for her special needs son who didn't walk in with her. The host lady said, "I only checked in you and your husband." So, the woman put the second yogurt back. It looked like the food was being served out of a large walk-in closet. If you want bread and cereal or oatmeal, then go for it. If you want eggs, pancakes, sausage, or hot, strong tasty coffee, try a restaurant on the boardwalk. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay.
